JoAnn Nichols Found; Now it is a Murder Investigation

JoAnn Nichols

Poughkeepsie, NY - JoAnn Nichols had been missing since December of 1985. The 1st grade teacher has been found after she has been missing for almost 30 years. Although her car was found the next day in a shopping parking lot, JoAnn never left home.

JoAnn's husband, James Nichols, passed away last year of natural causes. The house has been vacant since last December. The neighbors knew him as a hoarder. A contractor was at the home cleaning it out when he came upon a 'fake wall'. While removing the wall, the contractor found a sealed plastic container. Inside of the container was a body.

The body was identified, by dental records, as JoAnn Nichols. At the beginning of the week, investigators were able to confirm that JoAnn had been murdered by blunt force trauma.
