1988 Cold Case:
Missing Ohio Woman Found in Michigan
Diann Lynn Tatum
Mich. - Diane Tatum, a 26 year old from Jeffersonville, Ohio was on her way to see her mother in Warren, Mich. She never made it and was reported missing by her husband, Peter Tatum, four days later. The last time anyone spoke to her was October 21, 1988. A friend found her car in Cincinati, Ohio. It was parked at a motel but she had never checked in.
On August 6, 1994 a group of children found remains, wearing only underwear, in an abandoned farmhouse in Cottrellville Township, Mich. The woman had been shot twice, once in the head and was labeled as Jane Doe. They believed the body had been there 1-3 years.
Reconstruction
In March, a DNA match was found. Jane Doe actually had a name, Diann Lynn Tatum. A missing cold case has been solved and now it is a cold case murder.
